something you would tell no one
the words in your mouth cant describe
the horror built up in your gut
like the mottled play of bruises on skin
color seeping past thin layers
light plastering your ceiling in a collage
plastic smiles filling up the room
miles of silk and fame
but it never touches your trembling ears
catching fingers melting into snow
the wind will howl past you
the echo will haunt your visible breath
and you will bend to the aching wind
your mind a shallow hollow
and time will slow for a single second
the murmurs ghosting past
like bubbling laughter from deep within
you'll cry, a sound from beyond
a sob that breaks from your very soul
and then the tears will come
cascading raindrops, or falling dew
it doesnt matter if you knew
for nothing can peel back the layers of despair
that cling as cobwebs do
